Role purpose

As METRO accelerates its digital presence, we are building a global marketing platform that enables teams to unify customer data and deliver consistent, real-time customer experiences across channels. This role is for a hands-on technical Solution Expert who can translate business needs into scalable configuration, integrations and operational guidance across Marketing Automation, Customer Data Platform, messaging and consent-management capabilities.

Your Responsibilities:  

• Design and continuously improve the technical solution architecture for the Marketing Automation platform, with strong focus on Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Experience Platform, Optimizely, Sinch and OneTrust integrations;
• Jointly with the team and depending on system complexity, configure, customize, and optimize solutions according to business and technical requirements and platform architecture guidance;  
• Act as the bridge between business needs and technical execution by interpreting business processes and embedding them into platform configurations and solution design, together with the development teams; 
• Collaborate with developers, QA, support teams, product owners, country stakeholders and external vendors to ensure reliable implementation, testing, release and operations;
• Support integration design for customer data, event data, messaging providers, consent and preference data, campaign performance data and downstream reporting needs;
• Drive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for campaign execution, customer journey behavior, data flow, channel delivery, platform configuration and integration topics;
• Continuously improve performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring, documentation and supportability of the deployed solution;
• Act as technical SPOC for countries and cross-functional initiatives, helping harmonize solution usage, rollout standards and platform adoption. 

Required key competencies and qualifications: 

• Proven experience as a Solution Expert, Technical Product Specialist, Marketing Technology Consultant, Application Expert or similar role in a complex technology environment;
• Hands-on experience with at least one major Marketing Automation or customer-engagement platform. Adobe Journey Optimizer and Adobe Experience Platform experience is strongly preferred;
• Experience with one or more of the following platforms: Adobe Journey Optimizer, Optimizely, Sinch, OneTrust or comparable marketing technology, experimentation, messaging or consent-management solutions;
• Practical knowledge of marketing campaign execution across channels such as email, push, WhatsApp, RCS, Viber, SMS or in-app messaging;
• Solid understanding of customer data, audiences, segmentation, event-triggered automation, journey orchestration, consent usage, preference management and campaign activation concepts. 
• Ability to work with APIs, data mappings, integration concepts, event flows, payload structures, testing scenarios and technical documentation;
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex business processes and technical dependencies into clear solution designs;
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders and translate business objectives into precise technical execution guidance;
• Very good written and spoken English.
